Review of Freaks (1932) by Claire K — 26 Feb 2008
It's not going to win the Oscar for best leading actor/actress. It may win it for best direction (the climax is particularly well staged). But the story is good. The "freaks" are given good characters rather than just paraded around for controversy.
It's a shame more wasn't made of it but I suppose the audiences of 1932 weren't ready to have the rose tinted glasses removed.
