Review of Freaks (1932) by Stephanie S — 02 Aug 2008
Modern medicine has virtually eliminated the ability for freaks-in-the-womb to make it out of the womb, and into the real world. So a movie like this -- with real pinheads, human torsos, and other mutants -- can never be re-made w/ real people.
This is the tale of the cruel normals, and their torment of sideshow freaks. The oddities seek payback, and it isn't pretty. I always vote for the underdog and therefore bow down to Tod Browning. I give Freaks a ten-star rating.
Freaks will forever stand the test of time.
