Review of Freaks (1932) by Philip O — 23 Sep 2008
I was surprised to see this listed as a horror film, especially when it just looked like a circus sideshow exploitation flick from the 30s. But then I watched it. This little film truly is something to see, if only for the reason given in the title sequence: you are never going to see something like this in a feature film ever again.
The acting is completely trash and the story is kind of sensational, but really that's not that big a problem given the images and and scenes that Browning leaves the viewer with. It's not the best film in the world, but is definitely worth seeing.
