This was down right weird. It's cool that Tod Browning used actual circus performers instead of using makeup, but this was so weird. It does have a message to it, though. The "freaks" aren't the freaks.
The freaks are people like you. The freaks are the people the make fun of and put down the people with some kind of deformity. When I say "you" I mean the general public, not you (the person reading this) personally.
Overall, though, the movie it just weird. No wonder Tod Browning's career was destroyed after making this.
