Review of Freaks (1932) by Liolia K — 01 Apr 2010
Freakishly brilliant!
Its shock value and boldness still astonishes nowadays, and could be even more shocking and daring nowadays with the cult to perfect beauty standards. The essence, and what many would say the most "horrible" thing, of this film is that there's no actual makeup with these so called "monsters", they're all real, and the bonds these "freaks" create between each other, which moved the strings of my little heart, are as strong or even stronger than the bonds that "normal people" develop between each other.
A daring, bold, impressive and obscure fable that will certainly freak your senses.
