Review of Freaks (1932) by Seth B — 22 Aug 2011
Freaks is a notorious landmark horror cult classic that caused repulsion and controversy, but asking yourself what were the real reasons behind this is what matters. Browning's loud screaming and "in-your-face" monologues had the intention of condemning intolerance and discrimination, thus proposing the moral code imposed by our past generations to be reconsidered, and what we get in the end (besides the most terrifying ten minutes the 30s ever offered) is a disturbing glance at an even more disturbing fact: who the real freaks are (and that includes everyone disliking this movie, haha!).
99/100.
