Review of Freakonomics (2010) by Matt S — 02 Oct 2010
Having never read this book, I was quite entertained by this omnibus style adaptation. The case studies (each directed by a different award-winning documentarian) all are quite different and share an interesting story. I hear that if you've read the book, there's really nothing new here for you.
The story of cheating sumo wrestlers was something I would probably never have learned about and I was also fascinated by the examination of data about white vs. black names.
I'm not sure how I would have felt about paying to see this in the theater, but since I watched the free HDNet Movies sneak preview airing, I thought it played quite well at home.
