Review of Freakonomics (2010) by Bradley H — 21 Jul 2011
This documentary effectively challenges some assumptions people make about the causal relationship between different human events, but it does so in an uneven way. The through line between all the vignettes is not always made clear and, by virtue of having different directors, there as some stylistic clashes.
Overall, this is worth a watch because it takes a rational approach to discovering human motivations by dealing in terms of "incentives" while also keeping in mind that people are motivated by a number of different "incentives" and it is a mistake to assume you (or a government) can easily control the complex nature of people's choices.
