Review of Frantic (1988) by Mitchell Y — 18 Jul 2007
It's a pretty standard action flick from someone as visually creative as Polanski. Harrison Ford is fairly committed to the role and throws himself into ridiculous action scenes and moments of what I felt were awkward comedy, but the film tries too hard to be an epic mystery, when it's really quite straight forward.
I liked the noir atmosphere and the dark streets of Paris work well as a setting, but I felt the plot was lacking some bang.
