Review of Frankenweenie (2012) by Nicholas S — 31 Jan 2013

Tim Burton teams with Disney and from the very opening credits, one knows this will not be a traditional Disney movie. "Frankenweenie" is immensely enjoyable as a satirical homage to monster movies of the past.

The movie is also surprisingly moving and carries a strong theme about science. Traditional Burton elements are full on display: shady characters who seem like villains but are heroes and hated by a small town.

Also, the end may be somewhat predictable and along the lines of other Burton works but overall, this is a very fine animated film.
