Review of Frankenweenie (2012) by X X — 06 Mar 2013
An occasionally touching fable about the art of animation, so gorgeous and tactile in black and white it looks like magic. One would be hard pressed to find a more perfect vehicle to showcase the heart of an animator.
Like many of Tim Burton's films, this one begins with a great premise but has nowhere to go in the end. Tim Burton is still one of the most gifted storytellers in Hollywood, and I eagerly await the day he finds his great story to match.
