Review of Frankenweenie (2012) by Matt A — 18 Mar 2013
As a fan of Nightmare Before Xmas (yes I know he didnt direct it) and even the lacklustre Corpse Bride its always nice to see something from Tim Burton in this form. The characters are delightfully weird and wonderful and have that Burton feel to them and I love the fact thats its in a black and white format which just adds to the creepy feel of it.
Some great nods to the monster movie classic characters/actors like Vincent Price and Bride of Frankenstein. The only problem is its a story you already know the ending to, but it is enjoyable enough.
Probably Burtons best film in a long while but in a way thats not saying much.
