Review of Frankenweenie (2012) by Timm L — 18 Apr 2013
Wonderfully weird, macabre, delightful and genuinely moving, yes I admit it I did roll a tear.
The relationship between a boy and his dog is one I especially understand and the tragedy that you feel upon the loss of that friend.
This is by far the best original Tim Burton story I've seen since for a long time, in the same deliciously inventive vein as The Corpse Bride, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Edward Scissorhands and Bettlejuice.
It's also the best Danny Elfman score for a long time, he really seems to be enjoying his collaboration on this movie.
The voice cast are superb, and its great to have Winona Ryder and Catherine O'Hara back in the Burton-fold.
More movies like this please Mr Burton!
