Review of Frankenweenie (2012) by Camille P — 19 Mar 2013
Absolutely beautiful; a throwback to Burton's greatest works whereby he combines the mundanity of suburbia with the macabre. Beetlejuice, Ed Wood, Edward Scissorhands, Nightmare Before Christmas, Corpse Bride- this film stands alongside his best.
There's a couple of moments that may seem excessive, but the love of horror resonates through an otherwise charming and funny family film, harking back to oddball eighties comedies like The Burbs.
