Wow... this is... Zappa. A bizarre and twisted vision of mixed results. The concert footage, which the second half is almost entirely comprised of, is amazing and well worth watching. Looks like he was one of the best live acts out there.
Downside is that some of the behind the scenes stuff drones on and isn't really of interest to anyone outside of his hardcore fan base. The claymation portions are visually awesome, but... I don't get any of it.
Also, the movie's run time is... intimidating.
