Review of Frank (2014) by Shane K — 27 Jun 2014
Frank is a strange wonder, unlike any film I have ever seen. It is both truly funny and truly sad. Frank is the leader of an avant garde band that is recording, with painstaking dedication, their new album.
Frank, who wears a fake head at all times, is played by the amazing Fassbender. He brings Jon, essentially the narrator, into the band and the results are illuminating and darkly funny. This unique film is many things.
A story of mental illness, a satire on the perils of fame and the music industry. It also serves well as an exploration of the creation of music. It will stay with you for days.
