Review of Frank (2014) by Casey B — 07 Sep 2014
A sneakily adept study of the link between creativity and mental illness that disguises itself as a dark, surrealist comedy. The kind of film that takes a moment to fully embrace, that leaves you thinking and requires (and rewards) repeat viewings.
May very well belong among that allusive tier of comedies (In Bruges, The Big Lewbowski, Office Space): those films that are immediately appreciated as solid but whose true brilliance only comes into perspective years later.
