Review of Frank (2014) by Clive F — 27 Dec 2014
Frank stars Domhnall Gleeson as Jon a young man who wants so much to be a musician but he just can't find the right lyrics. He ends up through a series of circumstances ends being a back up keyboardist to a band which calls itself the Soronpfrbs.
The leader of the group decides he wants Jon to be a permanent member of the group and the leader is Frank a guy who wears a large fake head and he's played by Michael Fassbinder so they end up at a cabin in the woods trying to record there first album and days become weeks and weeks become months but then when they do record a few songs and Jon posts them to you tube along with the band rehearsals the band ends up being invited to the south by southwest music festival.
When they get to the festival and what happens after the festival I will not say. But this movie surprised me because on one level it starts out as a comedy but as it keeps going on it becomes more of though provoking character study.
Michael Fassbender is great as Frank and the movie is even better.
