Review of Frank (2014) by Ken S — 14 Jan 2015
Wonderfully oddball movie about an aspiring keyboardist and songwriter who ends up joining a band fronted by a mysterious man named Frank, who never takes off his giant Papier-mâché head. It is weird, it is a little sad, and it is pretty darn good.
Despite having his face covered by a giant cartoon mask for the bulk of the movie, Fassbender is really good and manages to do a lot under that mask, and really brings Frank to life. The movie is funny at times, but throughout the movie I sensed this sadness that pretty much comes to fruition near the end.
Worth a look if you like really odd movies.
