Review of Frances Ha (2013) by Dave P — 31 May 2013
Like friends of friends of the cast of "Girls", the New York millenials barely eke out a living amongst them, but everything sure seems better when swathed in a picaresque black-and-white swatch of Woody Allen's Manhattan.
Greta Gerwig, seemingly channeling Chloe Sevigny, is much prettier to watch than Lena Dunham, but no less damaged. Witty, cannily edited, daftly written and well acted, it stays light on its feet.
