Review of Frances Ha (2013) by Liam G — 30 Jul 2013
Highly original film about a twenty sth overeducated girl who wants a life she cant have. she is to comlicated for her own good and is not able to adapt to new life-altering decisions. she has to grow up the hard way until she reaches rock bottom, but it is never a bitter or sad tale, but full of myrth and irony.
the main character is highly likeable and well-played by indie star greta gerwig. The movie is split in different chapters based on adresses and represent the places where frances lives until she reaches, finally, her own home.
and has found her true self. It is also a very stylish movie, much hipster, and so something more peculiar than the average coming of age story.
