Review of Frances Ha (2013) by Richard B — 24 Nov 2013
I always so-so with Noah Baumbach's films. They are obviously always well-made films with interesting, if not troubled characters, but often times they are slow and sometimes lose my interest. This film is shot in black and film and makes it feel like it was filmed at any time.
The acting is great and Greta Gerwig carries the film with her wonderful performance and I really liked her character. The film doesn't cover any great ground and seems more like a snapshot of her character's life.
Overall a film I enjoyed, but can't say I really liked too much but was worth watching once.
