Review of Frances Ha (2013) by Justin S — 16 Jan 2014
Greta makes this film electric, drawing an audience in to root if not cheer for her success. Meanwhile, the director's use of B&W was an adventurous decision resulting, I think, in its proper placement among NYC Cannon, such as Woody Allen's tomes.
For that matter, I believe the old Woodster has been replaced - for who among directos today can convey a more real-to-life drama in NYC than the man behind the camera in Frances Ha.
Special note to the scoring: BRAVO.
