Review of Frances (1982) by Shawn A — 23 Jul 2008
The first half of this film comes off misguided without any real plot or direction. Scenes just fall out onto the screen. All the while, Jessica Lange carries one of the most emotionaly charged performances in her career.
Finally the movie picks up a bit the whole while I sat wondering when this movie would end. It follows a very familiar self-destructive starlet biopic structure which I'm getting a bit tired of. This movie has its ups, but is just a little drawn out.
