Review of Frailty (2012) by Shelly B — 02 Jan 2009
A bit overrated by most horror movie fans, Frailty is not really a hidden treasure. All the flashback story is really really good and scary, but direction of Paxton is so telenovela like that it loses its thrill on the way.
And his character, the religious father figure, could not be more annoying. And besides all of these, the plot twist that the story rellies on is very predictable and cheesy. If this way-too-colorful-for-a-serious-horror-movie twist was executed better or was replaced by a slow but disturbing ending, Frailty could be a real classic.
For me, it is just another chip thriller to watch on TV when you don't have anything better to do. Sad...
