Review of Fracture (2007) by Lord N — 03 Aug 2009
The thing about this movie is that Anthony Hopkins more or less reprises his brilliant role of Hannibal Lecter (one of if not the best acting performance I have ever seen). and as he was so good in The Silence of the Lambs when he reprises his role, any intelligent movie-goer roots for him and has no wish to see him fail.
We intelligent Hopkins fans would rather see him go undefeated. So to see him fail with a technicality that I view to be a cheap shot below the belt the movie is ruined for me and I would rather go watch Silence where the director knows what to do with a Lecteresque character.
As Hopkins was defeated this movie suddenly is now sub-par for me. I dunno. maybe I'm being childish here. I just don't like to see Hopkins lose. on top of all that, it was just a weak film in general.
nothing really special about it. I mean, Hopkins is as amazing as ever, but he should be doing better than this. I dunno. it was a really entertaining film though. I was interested through the whole thing.
