Review of Fracture (2007) by Benedick L — 08 Aug 2009
An enjoyable twisty thriller with anthony hopkins doing an alan rickman and unable to pin down a particular accent (is it scottish? Is it american? Is it....dare I say it? Welsh?). Some good choice of actors.
Gosling plays the cocky I'm too good to be in this job lawyer who is then faced with an ultimatum. Either put Hopkins in jail or lose everything. It is a typical thriller but you can't really go far wrong.
Hoblit is definitely in his safe zone and this stands nicely alongside Fallen and Frequency (both of which I have noticed are single word titles, maybe a pattern, I don't know). On a tangent note, I did see this in the cinema upon release but it must have been before I started writing these film reviews.
