An assertive assistant DA on the verge of signing with a major law firm has trouble convicting a successful engineer for a crime it is certain he has done, as the latter keeps coming up with loop holes that may keep him a free man.
The title of this film attracts attention onto the sophisticated fragility of its screenplay, that is dexterously structured but still allows breathing space for Hopkins and Gosling to antagonise each other on screen with two intense performances.
