I saw Gasland, and felt out of touch with reality as a result. Was there this giant mechanism of greed that was poisoning people that I didn't know about, oh my god do drilling companies really make water flammable with their destruction of mother nature, where has this film been, why is it not more well known, are we all screwed, is the planet falling apart?? I wanted answers, I wanted a second opinion, I wanted to do research of my own.

.. fortunately, FrackNation as it would be was already under way in filming. I felt relief that someone was making an effort at explaining the terrifying horror film that is Gasland, because it seemed, no one was questioning its thesis, or the man behind the movie.

I mean, wether you're pro energy, or apart of the green movement or whatever, you should watch FrackNation because there's information in the film that is not anecdotal, or opinion based, but supported by incredible research and speakers (incredible in terms of their expert analysis.

) To witness allegation after allegation be thwarted, and with such filmic technic, I was incredibly impressed by FrackNation as a documentary. The farmers in NY explaining their stories, the scientists in California, the interviews with politicians that corruptly supported Josh Fox, the men working on a real drilling site talking about safety, the family who claimed their water was on fire.

.. it was all incredibly compelling. However, this film is more than that-- I learned not just about the process of Fracturing, and the deceit in Gasland, but also how mans position in history with innovation, his energy consumption, and ability to wield new resources has made our lives incredibly better.

It was precisely this inspirational portion of the film that really got me. It wasn't about to Frack or Not, it was about, how resources can benefit us, and what it means to slander and ignore very viable, abundant, and powerful tools that greatly benefit civilization.

If you choose to live a great life, one with heat, and food, a nice home-- energy is a direct factor. I think once you understand that fracking helps provide that energy in a way never before seen, its no longer a debate.

The next step would be about defining clear laws about property rights, pollution, etc. The anti-frackers don't want to acknowledge that; they want to ban tracking outright. This film exposes how incredibly insane and tragic that thinking is.

Anyway-- great film, very well made, and leaves you with the sense to go out and make a difference, to support technology and innovation-- not the dark ages. Inspiring, and Im glad these guys took the risk of making it in a time when these ideas are incredibly unpopular, and demonized.
