Review of Foxcatcher (2014) by Carley E — 18 Mar 2015
First, Steve Carrell is stunning as John DuPont the thoroughly ill "golden eagle" of America who seeks his mother's approval as he supports two wrestlers' (brothers Channing Tatum and Mark Ruffalo) Olympic dreams.
Mr. Carrell disappears into John DuPont while Mr. Tatum and Mr. Ruffalo offer wonderful supporting acting for him. I didn't love this movie, but I am glad I finally watched it. I kept waiting for the tragedy which came at the very very end of the film.
A tad too much tension for me.
