Review of Foxcatcher (2014) by Adam K — 21 Mar 2015
A quiet, soft-focused inspection of a mad man. John du Pont decides to sponsor the U.S. wrestling team and hires Mark Schultz and his brother, Dave, who won gold medals in the 1984 Olympics. John is looking for a father figure and du Pont is happy to oblige.
Things begin to go wrong, however, and relationships deteriorate. Dave Schultz ends up dead. Channing Tatum and Mark Ruffalo are brilliant as the wrestling brothers and Steve Carell is powerful as the sociopathic John du Pont.
