I cannot say exactly why, but I was underwhelmed by this film considering it got so much oscar buzz. no doubt, the main characters are acted out incredibly well, but they fail to be really interesting.
the atmosphere of a foreboding drama is well worked out, but it is nevertheless 'boring' to watch it play out.
