Review of Foxcatcher (2014) by Hardy C — 19 Mar 2016
Uneven movie with questionable directing and curious editing. I never got the feeling that any of these individuals knew or cared about the motivations of others. Perhaps this reflected the reality of the duPont tragedy, but as cinema it left me unsatisfied.
Carell's performance was OK but he like Ruffalo and Tatum basically had one face roles, rarely having to show a range of emotions. It felt more like a documentary than a dramatic film.
