Review of Foxcatcher (2014) by Jgzeger — 28 Feb 2015
Director Bennett Miller has done a major disservice to audiences with the ending he provided for this movie. The movie makes it seem that John Du Pont shot Mark Schultz's brother Dave because he was upset with Mark leaving Du Pont's training facility.
What happened in real life was that John Du Pont was angry with brother Dave Schultz for accepting a coaching position elsewhere. Although the story was interesting and the acting was good, particularly Steve Carrell as John Du Pont, there is nothing like a major factual misrepresentation to spoil a movie for me.
