Review of Foxcatcher (2014) by Bobby H — 28 Aug 2015
Waste of time. This is my first ever review of a movie and I have seen tens of thousands of movies, that should say a lot. This movie is absolutely atrocious. Now the movie and the acting are completely different.
Acting wise this movie is brilliant, however, plot wise this movie is a waste. For being slightly over 2 hours long this movie does nothing in the sense of depicting the main characters lives. You're constantly sitting there going, "ok, what's wrong with this guy" yet nothing ever happens to actually delve into the mind of that person.
This movie essentially had full reign to endings into the mind of a mentally ill individual in ways we have not seen yet and failed to even come close to touching the subject; which is the focal point of the entire story.
Spoiler alert***** instead of wasting your time watching this, a man with horrible self esteem pursues a wrestler to help him rebuild it. The man acts strange then kills the wrestlers brother. Yeah, that is actually the entire movie in 1 sentence.
There is literally nothing else to discuss or add. That is why I eat this as a horrible film.
