Review of Four Weddings and a Funeral (1994) by Joel H — 29 May 2013
I know many people consider Four Weddings and a Funeral to be a classic romantic comedy, but I don't see the appeal. It isn't that romantic and it isn't that funny. The relationship between the two leads isn't really compelling or deserved, and the wedding scenes could have been trimmed down by 5 to 10 minutes each.
I did like the funeral section of this film, though - that part was well done. How did this get a Best Picture nomination?
