Review of Four Rooms (1995) by Matthew J — 16 Feb 2013
Like I do with every omnibus this film has to be split into four reviews:
1) The Missing Ingredient - This room is definitely the weakest one with incoherent plot, silly and cheesy acting and a rushed screenplay. 20 %.
2) The Wrong Man - This one is much better than 'The Missing Ingredient' but it is still a dull and badly written short. 60%.
3) The Misbehavers - Thou not his best this Robert Rodriguez film is quite funny and stylish. It is also very well made. It is a huge improvement over the previous two (weak) shorts.70%.
4) The Man from Hollywood - Quentin Tarantino (in his usual style) shows us an amazingly well written and directed story which lifts the film. It is worth to sit trough all three previous stories just to get to this mini-masterpiece. 100%.
ALL in ALL this film is one of the weaker omnibuses but still a fun film to watch when there is nothing else on TV.
