Review of Four Lions (2010) by Radek C — 01 May 2011
It takes a lot of guts to tackle the subject of Islamic terrorism and turn it into a comedy. And it takes a lot more talent to make a good movie out of it, which thankfully Christopher Morris has plenty of.
The movie is absolutely hilarious throughout, up until a few minutes before the end, when the mood unavoidably turns serious. Unfortunately, Morris never really dives very deep into the subject and most of his characters are nothing more than caricatures.
If it were just for the laughs, this movie would be a perfect 5-star, but expectations were high.
