Review of Four Lions (2010) by Alex N — 09 May 2011
Just because the idea of making a movie of bumbling terrorists is bold and has potential to be funny doesn't mean that it is. The writing and acting are average, the timing of the jokes and well just the whole vibe of it is off.
To compare this to Dr Strangelove as the critic from Time magazine seems like a stretch to me. The thick, hard to understand British accents and lingo didn't help, but that hasn't prevented me from enjoying much harder to comprehend Mike Leigh and Ken Loach films.
