Review of Four Lions (2010) by Jared C — 12 Mar 2013
I kept seeing 'funny, funny, funny, funny' on the cover of the dvd and have heard that some say it was really funny. It is one of those films that intentionally wouldn't have meant to be funny.
But considering it was shot and maybe mistaken for a mockumentary, the characters are exaggerated and maybe a bit cliche on the side to be real enough to make this look like a mockumentary. There are some really classical funny stuff in it, if you enjoy seeing Muslims make fun of themselves by blowing stuff up in the wrong way, smashing each other in the face, running around with bags carrying very dangerous explosives and doing really ridiculous things than you will enjoy this.
Quite honestly at the end was where I think I lost track, it was like 'okay did it mean to be funny up to this part, and then just shut off or what?' Overall it does spill laughs even if it is considered a disgrace to the religion and to the way some Muslims think, you can't help but laugh at the stupid stuff that takes place during this film.
