Review of Four Lions (2010) by Paul P — 25 Jan 2011
Before I saw it I was worried if it would be too safe, we're dealing with very delicate material here. And if it would be the same joke for 102 minutes. Well it turns out Chris Morris has the brass and the brains to wonderfully pull this off.
Written by a few writers from the brilliant satire 'In The Loop' the film has the same comedic style. Roger Ebert has a beauty of a line about the 5 leads "They speak such a fluent mixture of working-class Brit slang and argot, in such fluent accents, that itâ(TM)s odd to hear their radical beliefs in such commonplace slang" I'm still trading lines from this movie with friends over a week later.
