Review of Four Christmases (2008) by James E — 14 Dec 2010
Reese Witherspoon is in dire need of a good meal, and Vince Vaughn could do with playing a different character from time to time. The funniest things about this film were the height difference between the two leads (even when Witherspoon wore 6-inch heels) and a very amusing Meet-The-Parents style slapstick sequence when Vaughn attempts to fit a satellite dish to his father's house.
Most of the characters in the four families are enough to put me off visiting America for the rest of my life, although Jon Voight was an unexpected and welcome surprise. It's hard for me to enjoy a film when the likeable characters are rarer than hens' teeth.
Bah humbug!
