Review of Four Christmases (2008) by Russell G — 31 Mar 2012
It is not a new Christmas classic, but I really enjoyed this movie and laughed a lot. I loved Vince Vaughnâ(TM)s fast paced sarcasm and observational humor; he really made the movie a success. If you do not like Vaughn then this movie is not for you.
The movie capitalizes on how hilarious the pressures of the holidays plus can be when paired with a dysfunctional family. Having four sets of family to spend Christmas with made set the stage for several different characters to keep the laughs and awkward moments coming.
Vaughn steals the show and leads the way but the supporting cast does add a lot to the movie. At one point the movie gets a little mushy and cliche with the couple blowing up and separating, but it gets back on track and is within reason.
It is no Christmas Vacation or Meet the Parents but it is a fun movie with lots of laughs and I recommend it.
