Review of Four Christmases (2008) by Shannon B — 05 Apr 2012
Do you think that the genre of "Romantic Comedy" is just another way of saying "Shallow Fluff"?
Here we have a so-called holiday film that presumes to teach American audiences about the importance of "family" by stringing us through four separate dysfunctional homes, each headed by dysfunctional characters played by dysfunctional actors and actresses. The real irony of it all is that the meat of the script (if such a film can be said to have substance) is in it's full frontal assault on the institution of marriage yet it's offered up to the masses under the guise of wholesome holiday fun. (Excuse me while I throw up a little in my mouth).
