Review of Four Christmases (2008) by Sol C — 11 Jun 2010
The film was ok but could have been much better. Vince Vaughn was much better in his other christmas film, Fred Claus than here. The film needed a rewrite. I didn't like the way it opened. I also thought there wasn't a good on screen chemistry between Vaughn and Witherspoon. The film seems unbalanced. The routine of the film is family to family to family to family to the end. There should have been more to it than that.
The interaction with each family is funny. Sometimes it is a little too over the top. I thought Jon Favreau was hilarious as Vaughn's brother.
Overall, if you want to see Vaughn in a better christmas film, skip this one and see Fred Claus instead.
