Review of Forrest Gump (1994) by Marc R — 09 Jul 2014
Silly, overly sentimental, simplistic, worthless. Hank's performance is bafflingly shallow and unconvincing. He does more poignant work in "Big." America"s (and Oscar's) love affair with this facile, thematically naive film is one of the great puzzles in cinema history.
That it beat out films like "Pulp Fiction" and "Shawshank Redemption" for Best Picture only adds further incredulity.
