A directorial masterpiece. Critiqued for being heavy-handed and over-sentimental Forrest Gump is a story-telling triumph. Hanks delivers a brilliant performance and each scene is hand crafted film-making brilliance.
Do we make our own destinies or is our fate pre-ordained? A weighty subject tackled by a story about a simpleton and answered through emotional intelligence. It's no wonder some ego driven critics found flaws while rebounded at large opened right up to this amazingly well done film.
