This is a good film that is unbelievably overrated. Gets a 7 for Tom Hanks' performance and the one admittedly hilarious scene where Bubba and Forrest are asked whether they are twins. The rest of the film is cartoonish, pretentious and overly-sentimental bull****.
How this beat the Shawshank Redemption, or even worse Pulp Fiction, arguably the best movies of the 90s is beyond me.
