Review of Forrest Gump (1994) by Jackson W — 15 Aug 2016
Some of it is too disturbing for it's own good, but it all makes up a timeless classic. Tom Hanks really invests himself emotionally into a naive borderline retarded Alabama man and his adventures becoming a staple in many important events of American history.
It's jokes are great, it's cinematography is good for it's time and somewhat passes every test, and the legacy it has is incredibly considering it's a moderately toned family film. Whether it's the non-fictional shrimp restaurant it inspired, the myriad of quotes, or just basically Tom Hanks, everyone I know seems to remember and love this flick.
It's very encouraging to see that films don't have to be completely innovative and have a big time budget to spark influence in a general public.
