Review of Forgiving Dr. Mengele (2006) by Susan M — 27 Sep 2010
Watching this movie, one can't help admiring and respecting Eva Mozes Kor. She was a twin, and was taken to Auschwitz during the Holocaust, where she and her sister, age ten, were tortured with terrible experiments at the hands of Dr. Mengele. After a lifetime of being trapped in the victim's nightmare, she decides to free herself by forgiving those who killed her family and tormented her.
The documentary is filmed objectively, by giving voice to those twin survivors who are opposed to her ideas, and by showing how Mrs. Kor struggles with forgiveness in more current situations.
If you have children, take care: There is some graphic footage of Holocaust atrocities. But it is definitely a worthwhile film for those who like to think.
